Dr. Thomas Murphy is an ABR board-certified diagnostic and interventional radiologist with an ABR Certificate of Added Qualification (CAQ) in Vascular and Interventional Radiology. He received his MD degree and completed an internship in General Surgery at the Medical College of Georgia in Augusta. He then completed his Radiology residency at the Virginia Commonwealth University Health System in Richmond, Virginia and a Vascular and Interventional Radiology fellowship at the Johns Hopkins Medical Institutes in Baltimore, Maryland with concentration in Interventional Oncology. He has published numerous journal articles in molecular neurobiology, mammography, vascular and interventional radiology/oncology, and transplant radiology. He moved back to his native Atlanta to join Quantum Radiology, P.C. in 2007. His areas of interest are interventional oncology, image-guided ablation, spine interventions for pain control and complex hepatobiliary interventions. He is a member of the American College of Radiology (ACR), the Society for Interventional Radiology (SIR), American Roentgen Ray Society (ARRS), Medical Association of Georgia (MAG) and the Radiological Society of North America (RSNA). His personal interests are music, sports and history.
