Dr. Byrd graduated from Princeton University in 1991 and then received his medical degree from Medical College of Virginia in 1995 (currently named Virginia Commonwealth University School of Medicine). After a year of medicine and surgery internship in 1996, Dr. Byrd completed his residency in Diagnostic Radiology at Yale University (Yale-New Haven Hospital) in 2000. While at Yale, he was elected as the Chief Resident and a member of the admissions committee. Dr. Byrd then completed additional training in a Vascular and Interventional Radiology Fellowship at Yale University in 2001. He was in a practice in Texas from 2001 through 2003, and joined Roswell Radiology Associates (RRA) in Roswell, GA in 2003, where he was a partner, past Chairman of the group and a medical staff leader. He and his RRA group joined Quantum Radiology in January of 2019.
